Bill Parsell
Monthly -
1st Wednesday @ 9:00 AM
This organization was begun in the 1940s with start up
capital from both St. John’s UCC and St. John’s Lutheran; it
functions more like a chartered organization of the church
in that it is totally self-sustaining. The purpose of the
Association is to sell lots and provide maintenance for the
Lutheran and UCC cemeteries. There are 4 members (two from
each congregation) who meet once a month. Once or twice per
year a representative from Consistory is invited to the
meeting to keep lines of communication open. The only
function of a pastor with this group is in referring
families who are interested in purchasing a cemetery lot.

Creative Spirits -
Maggie Fenstermacher & Kathy Delhagen
Creative Spirits is a brand new group forming at St. John's.
The idea was brought to life by members of Pastor Bill's Memorial Committee.
The original plan was to purchase large, colorful banners to install in the
glass windows in the atrium. As often happens, that plan took a more
exciting path! We now realize that we need to encourage our own congregation
to express their imagination, hope and faith through different facets of
art. We will be making the banners ourselves with the help of God! Finishing
the banners will not be an end to a project, but rather the beginning of a
new ministry of spiritual formation through creativity.

Fund
Raising - Marty Beers & Mike Ackerman
Laity takes primary initiative and responsibility. There are
numerous fund raising activities at St. John’s throughout
the year. The purpose of many of them is to help to reduce
the renovation debt, however, some are run by groups within
the church who keep the profit in a separate account and do
a “once a year” distribution agreed upon by their members.
Please note that these are separate from any efforts put
forth by the Missions Committee. Following is a partial list
of fundraising activities: Hoagie sales; Longaberger Basket
Bingo; Homemade Soup Sales; Annual Christmas Ball Project;
Pizza Sales; Tastefully Simple Food Items; Monthly
Breakfast; Easter Dawn Breakfast; Annual Craft Fair;
Spaghetti Buffet Supper. This committee acts to oversee &
coordinate the efforts of the different groups and works
closely with the church office in maintaining a schedule of
events.
